I recorded the original album in 1997.
When I recorded the first album, I was rushed and out of money so many of the songs weren’t actually finished. Finally you hear every song as I intended it to be. Enjoy
I first started singing in 1985 for a local Christian Rock band called AXIS. I wrote a few songs and mostly we played the popular songs in Christian Rock at the time, Petra, Russ Taff, White Heart etc.
In 1987 I parted ways and joined another band called EXCEL and for a few years we sang some originals and then I decided I wanted to go a different direction, to develop my own sound, my own songs and go solo.
I continued to learn to write and did a lot of studio work recording my own songs as well as recording demo’s for other bands that wanted my style of singing. Eventually I made it into a studio in at Fourth Creation Studios with the help of my friends, I recorded this solo album. It took about 100 hours of recording time and then the cost of cd’s. I sold about 300 and gave away about that many more.
Eventually I realized that I really didn’t want to be a recording artist, touring and always away from my family so in 1998 I laid my dreams aside and focused on IT and being a husband and father.
Thru the years I kept writing and only until the summer of 2025 did I come to the conclusion that if I’m writing these songs, surely the Lord has a purpose. I asked the Lord what He wanted me to do and all of a sudden I was prompted to search for an AI solution to develop my songs. A solution that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg to demo out lyrics with music so I could actually hear a semi-finished song based on lyrics I was writing.
Well in November I found my dream tool, suno.com. It had very powerful creation tools and so I began using Suno Studio version and I was so impressed with the results. I realized that AI music is frowned upon by many in the music business…well I’m not in the music business and these are my songs that will never be anything but the pleasure of writing and others listening. So I’ve been really focusing on how to use the tools properly and effectively so the creation of my music is what I had originally intended. So as you can see, the re-mastering of my original cd is rewarding, the singer sings in the range I used to sing with so if I could go back in time 30 years and have these arrangements, maybe I would have looked at full time ministry different, but that’s impossible so I just forge on, writing songs and demo creation with Suno.
The songs on A Broken Man are done, and I will not record new vocals, but moving forward I will create songs and melodies that I will be able to download all the tracks and sing the Lead vocals and then publish them on my website and possibly use Distro-Kid to distribute them to the masses. My heart and goal for these songs is to write and produce a song that will touch your heart. So far in the last 12 months I’ve written about 30 new songs, and many of them are Country. I’ll produce those up and share them here as well, but in the Mean time, I have about 20 songs ready for me to record the vocals on and then mix and master the songs. So I hope to be finished by the end of May or early June for the first 12 songs.
